Helpline ( guardian)
Centenary building viewing beach
and the passers
by .
I am typist –cum-clerk of helpline
Serving more than four decades.
Part and parcel of
the falling plasters
and seeping
corners, hanging cobwebs;
we are serving
under this gamut
of shaky roof and
rummage;
life amidst coffee breaks and starvation
and big
queue before loan sanctions
endless queries; corners of
staircase
flooded with
lunch boxes munching
other’s lives. Summer’s taps
going dry
soda and
coco cola immediate
substitute for
quite some.
Many without
annual increment
On the mercy of
ever faithful
Keyboards vociferous, resounding
On all corners. For many take home
Salary is minus loan and debt.
Oh! God! How can you allow
Under your purview
this
Dystopian ugly
pervading for
Years unchecked
as the rolling
waves touch
and go by the sandy shores.
I
wish I too one
among the
Gyrations and colourful fish
