Galileo a costly miss for us all Radhamani sarma

      Galileo a costly miss for us all

Radhamani sasrma

 We all miss Galileo, his rich vibrant thought,

Discovery into a  new move. Our tiny world,

the place we exist in,  should grow into

a larger space, that is what he wished for,

that is what we all should aim at;

but uncertainty, and slow  move

with a  questioning   spirit  of man,

impediment for his own growth

as well as  his surroundings.

This is the spirit of mankind

in general. Often I  notice,

 Galileo’s imagination,

   stones falling free, man

also falls free without any control

I perceive. After all we all live by

Some creative aura, propelled

By an instinct special. Galileo

Is  folded,  his scientific  query

Is compact folded in his self,

The poem, the beam , the push .

Galileo is one bright star, poetic

Spirit and new discovery;

We all move in receding dark,

Plunge others into growing dark.

We all miss him, costly miss.

Oh! inner life Radhamani sarma

Oh! inner life

 Radhamani sarma

Oh! inner life

I always brood o inner life,

What label appropriate ,

Can be attached to it?

Think of ice, iceberg, water,

Falls, earth and caves,

Could be the representative

Of God or godhead,

A supreme power;

not violable.

One clear view

from above,

how long to sustain?

Walk on ice-berg,

Talk about decades’

Cavalcade or tides,

Tirades or shingles

Origin or end

All to where? A question

Inner life struggles

With what?

Many a broods

Of queries unsolved

To be resolved,

When and where.

' you grow beyond perception

Radhamani sarma

I watch and walk by steady wattle

Coining like a rope, a sight of fresh glow,

unforgettable evergreen to my eyes.

Lesser trees shy away, in the   sun beam,

my eyes, like any other  keen watcher,

Green and ever green stuck to the golden spot;

Close by sits one painter agile,

with brush and colors, his rights

and birthright for years;

 a regular visitor to these blessed spots,

his strokes up and down, unforsaking brush

feast for  many a  passer-by.

I simply adore you Prickly Moses,

Feeling guilty for all those days

When I ignored you;

Instead I  marveled and even adored

At oak, elm  and other trees of my choice,

Now the time has come ;

You were found to be most common,

Why even now very common,

Cut down by cruel hands ;

Prickly Moses has become so common,

“ you grow regardless”. you are exalted

Achieve  illumined enlightenment,

“I guess we’re still shy of the Promised Land.”

only the tidal waves

Only the tidal waves

 Radhamani sasrma

Only darkness in front

beseeching his body and vision,

refugee laughs at his own

predicament, oak and valley,

mock at his new move.

Thin small leaf consoles him

As if to move on to the sea;

lending a   helping hand;

History  repeats the parrot cry,

what about the history of those hidden,

where is life about them, he cared

for those strung by a  bond ;

he imagines to be in a  room,

books that reflect many a war,

defeats and swords speaking volumes,

no warning  could work against all;

no photos, pictures,  on the wall,

no paintings clamoring the  victory,

only the tidal waves dash against

the happenings and moorings.
