New Beginning

A good  beginning  ( Guardian)

 Pimples   on the  bloom

Blooming    shining  skin,

Good   augury and  beginning

As construed  by  elders.        

 During  single  window -

 days  of  ancient  and ere

  Modernity  Struck the cord

  of jubilant  Innovation,

  Ere  the  days  of  sanitary

  Napkins  signalled their 

   Comfort  and  arrival  into

  Maturing   girl’s   blooming 

 Days- mothers  prepared

 Minds :  clothes – safe mode

 For  periods. No other  go.

A child of   five

Wiping   slates  with

Saliva  -quick mode of

Erase- a  new  beginning 

For  him, till  parents

And  teachers  gently

admonish  the  ward.

Exchange of  wedding  rings

Costly or  simple on either

Hands – a  good new beginning.

Not a  show but a sanctity

Followed even  today.

Dead  not wishing  for life

Anymore, strewn petals

around   the  coffin,  good

beginning  of  a  final journey.
